Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput has announced that temporary eligibility slips will be issued to workers who have either provided incomplete addresses or do not reside at the given addresses. These eligibility slips will be provided to approximately 1.7 million workers to enable them to receive food rations. This initiative is being undertaken in compliance with an order from the Supreme Court. The temporary eligibility slips will be issued based on data of registered workers on the e-Shram portal, with a target completion by March 2024.
The Food and Consumer Protection Department has informed that these temporary eligibility slips will be issued based on information provided by workers registered on the Government of India’s e-Shram portal. These slips will contain details including the worker’s UAN number, name, district, address, pin code, and mobile number. As the e-Shram portal only registers the worker, without information about other family members, these eligibility slips will be issued solely to the individual worker registered under their name.
Workers can download the temporary eligibility slips using their UAN number through the Ration Mitra portal at their respective DSC/DSO/JSO, local body, gram panchayat, or ward office logins. To obtain their eligibility slips, workers are required to visit these offices with their e-Shram card. The designated officer or staff member will search for the slip using the worker’s UAN number on the Ration Mitra portal and verify supporting documents such as the family Samagra ID, Aadhaar card, and eligibility-related documentation. Upon successful verification, a permanent eligibility slip will be issued to the worker, which will confirm their entitlement to receive food rations.
