Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput announced the Minimum Support Prices (MSP) for the 2024-25 Kharif marketing season: ₹2300 per quintal for common paddy, ₹2320 for Grade-A paddy, ₹3421 for Jowar (Maldandi), ₹3371 for hybrid Jowar, and ₹2625 for Bajra. Farmers' crops that meet FAQ (Fair Average Quality) standards will be procured at these MSP rates.

Procurement dates for Jowar and Bajra are set from November 22 to December 20, while paddy procurement will take place from December 2 to January 20, 2025. The procurement will occur Monday through Friday each week.

MSP-Based Procurement Goals Set for Paddy, Jowar, and Bajra:

As per targets set by the Government of India, 4.5 million metric tons of paddy, 300,000 metric tons of bajra, and 50,000 metric tons of jowar will be procured at MSP. Quality testing of grains will be conducted at the warehouse level by the procurement agency’s quality surveyor before staking. Penalties will be imposed weekly on transporters who fail to transport the procured grain within the stipulated time frame.

Payments to Farmers' Aadhaar-Linked Bank Accounts:

Payments for the procured paddy, jowar, and bajra will be transferred directly to the farmers' Aadhaar-linked bank accounts registered during enrollment. Instructions have been given to collectors to take strict action to prevent illegal sales from neighboring states at procurement centers during the procurement period.

Technical Cells Established at State and District Levels: To address technical issues during enrollment and procurement, a dedicated technical cell will be set up at both district and state levels. Additionally, a district-level committee will resolve procurement-related disputes and oversee the quality of the procured food grains. A state-level control room will be established with contact number 0755-2551471, operational from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. during the procurement period.
