Farming generally depends on the weather. Every crop requires necessary weather to grow and ripen. In such a situation, farmers depend on the India Meteorological Department i.e. IMD for weather forecast. The Meteorological Department issues daily weather forecast for farmers. Meanwhile, good news is that the Meteorological Department will issue weather forecast at the Panchayat level from Monday. Farmers will benefit greatly from this. Through this, farmers reach their villages. You will also be able to know about the weather. According to experts, it is being said that this step of the Meteorological Department will also reduce the wastage of crops. Farmers will store their produce in a safe place before the weather gets bad. At the same time, there is a wave of happiness among the farmers of the country due to this announcement of IMD.

Har Har Mausam, Har Ghar Mausam initiative will be launched:

IMD chief Mrityunjay Mohapatra has informed that 'Har Har Mausam, Har Ghar Mausam' initiative and National Framework for Climate Services will also be launched on Monday. Apart from this, IMD will launch year-long celebrations to celebrate its 150th anniversary. According to him, India's technological capability has made it possible for IMD to take its forecasting capability from the block to the panchayat level. Its objective is to connect at least five farmers in every village across the country through 'Panchayat Mausam Seva' and provide them with information about all-weather parameters like maximum and minimum temperature, humidity, and wind speed apart from severe weather warnings.

Farmers will be able to get information in their own language:

During this time, the IMD chief also said that farmers will now be able to get weather information at the Panchayat level in 12 Indian languages apart from English and Hindi. Mohapatra said that IMD is currently helping in disseminating agricultural, meteorological observations and forecasts at the block level. Now, we are reaching the Panchayat level. He said that Panchayat secretaries, Panchayat sarpanches and ward members are being included in this.

How to get weather information:

According to the IMD chief, the IMD had launched Nowcast - or severe weather warnings for storms for 120 cities in 2013. Mohapatra said that till now, we have made nowcast for all types of severe weather for all districts and 1,200 cities and towns across the country. He said that under our scheme, any person in any corner of the country can get any weather related information through mobile app for the next seven days and next few hours. For this, farmers will just have to write the name of the place or enter the pin code of the area on the mobile app. After this, information related to the forecast of your village will appear on the mobile screen. This will cover maximum and minimum temperature, humidity, wind speed. Besides, an alert will also be issued for severe weather.
