The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has released a weather forecast for various regions across the country from April 18 to April 22, encompassing thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, heat waves, and squally weather conditions. Let's delve into these weather activities:

Aaj Ka Mausam:

  1. On April 18, thunderclouds with lightning and strong winds are expected to prevail in different states such as Sub-Himalayan, West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura. Additionally, there's a possibility of rain or snowfall in these areas. Warm and humid weather is anticipated in regions like Konkan, Kerala, Coastal, and South Interior Karnataka. Moreover, Odisha, West Bengal, Bihar, and other divided areas might experience scorching heat.
  2. Moving to April 19, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, and several other regions may witness thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds, along with light to moderate rain. Heavy rainfall/snowfall is also forecasted in Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad and Arunachal Pradesh, while southern regions are likely to experience persistent heat and warm weather.
  3. By April 20, states like Chhattisgarh, Punjab, and others might see thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and strong winds. Heavy rainfall/snowfall is anticipated in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam & Meghalaya, and Nagaland, among others. Additionally, the southern parts of the country may continue to face heat waves.
  4. Similar weather patterns are expected on April 21 and 22, with thunderstorms, heavy rainfall, and heat waves continuing to impact various parts of the country.
  5. Furthermore, squally weather conditions with wind speeds of 40 to 45 km/h, gusting to 55 km/h, are likely over the Comorin area and adjoining Gulf of Mannar on April 18 and 19.

The IMD advises residents in affected areas to stay updated on weather today and take necessary precautions to mitigate potential risks associated with these weather phenomena.
