Alerts have been issued in several states of the country regarding the heatwave. This includes Delhi, West Bengal, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and many other states. Due to the extreme heat, the Delhi government has issued several guidelines. The government has provided directions for schools. 

Government Issued Circular

In view of the rising temperatures, the Delhi government has issued a circular. It states that all recognized schools in Delhi must ensure that there are not too many students in schools during the afternoon. In the summers, the temperature in the capital often exceeds 40 degrees Celsius, which is not suitable for children's health. The circular also states that it is mandatory for all schools to arrange for drinking water for the children. The circular also mentions that water breaks should be provided for all students during class. On the other hand, the Odisha government has announced the closure of schools until April 16th due to the increasing temperatures.

Temperature Could Reach 40 Degrees

The weather department has predicted that the maximum temperature in Delhi in the coming days could reach up to 40 degrees Celsius. Over the next five days, an increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in temperature is possible. Heatwaves are likely to occur in several states between April 12th and April 16th.

Current Weather in Other States

According to the weather department, there is a possibility of light rain in Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan on April 16th. However, some cities in Haryana may still experience a heatwave. Meanwhile, West Bengal began experiencing a heatwave from April 12th, and it is expected to continue until April 16th. In Uttar Pradesh, the minimum temperature can be 22 degrees, while the maximum temperature can reach 39 degrees. Heatwaves have also begun in Lucknow. Ghaziabad will have a minimum temperature of 21 degrees and a maximum temperature of 37 degrees.
