The Uttar Pradesh government, led by Yogi Adityanath, has been consistently working for the state's farmers. The government has also initiated crucial schemes for the farmers. In the midst of this, there is good news from the Uttar Pradesh government for more than three lakh farmers in the state. The government has taken a significant decision to compensate farmers exempted from losses due to disasters over the past two years. The UP government has instructed to transfer more than 1.76 billion rupees to the accounts of over three lakh affected farmers in the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23 due to technical reasons as soon as possible. This will benefit thousands of farmers in UP.

3.76 Lakh Farmers were Eligible for Compensation:

According to information, a re-survey was conducted in all districts of the state to provide assistance to the farmers exempted from compensation for losses due to disasters. The survey found that a total of 3,76,287 farmers in the state were exempted from compensation for losses due to crops affected by disasters in the financial years 2021-22 and 2022-23. This includes 2,27,735 farmers from the financial year 2021-22 and 1,48,552 farmers from the financial year 2022-23. Instructions were given to all district magistrates to demand compensation for exempted farmers. A demand for a total amount of Rs. 176,963,245 has been made from all 75 districts of the state for both financial years.

Payment of More Than 60 Crore Rupees has Been Made:

Relief Commissioner GS Navin said that during the data feeding of farmers affected by crops damaged by disasters, many farmers could not receive compensation due to errors in Aadhar and account numbers, and duplication. Now, on the instructions of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the compensation is being transferred to the affected farmers by re-surveying. Meanwhile, as per demand, funds are being made available to provide immediate compensation to the affected farmers of crops damaged by disasters from various districts of the state. So far, payment of more than 60 crore rupees has been made to the exempted farmers from the past two financial years.

These Farmers from the Districts Did Not Receive Compensation:

According to the Additional Chief Secretary Revenue, it was found in the survey that in the financial year 2021-22, the highest number of farmers exempted from compensation was from Sitapur, where 27,836 farmers were exempted, who are being paid a compensation of Rs. 107,251,397. Similarly, Barabanki has 22,661 farmers at the second position, and Lalitpur has 19,420 farmers at the third position who are being paid compensation. Similarly, in the financial year 2022-23, the highest number of 21,002 farmers exempted from compensation was from Siddharthnagar, who are being paid a compensation of Rs. 10,075,3392. Similarly, Jhansi has 17,296 farmers at the second position, and Balrampur has 12,933 farmers at the third position who are being paid compensation. On the instructions of CM Yogi, directions have been given to transfer the compensation amount to the farmers' accounts through DBT within 24 hours of the compensation survey.
