Demand for guavas increases during the winter season. At this time, guavas are fetching good prices. Meanwhile, the Yogi government of Uttar Pradesh is working to increase the income of farmers by exporting guavas to foreign countries. In this sequence, the first consignment of Sebia and White guavas from Prayagraj was sent to the Gulf country Oman on Monday. These guavas are also known as Allahabadi guavas. This has resulted in good returns for the farmers. Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agriculture Foreign Trade, and Agriculture Export, mentioned that the government is consistently working to increase the income of farmers.

First consignment sent with 6 quintals of guavas: On Monday, Minister Dinesh Pratap Singh sent the first consignment of guavas from Lucknow Airport. He informed that in the first consignment, 6 quintals of Sebia and White guavas from Prayagraj were sent. According to him, the responsibility of sending this first consignment of guavas was given to the Prayagraj-based company Mace Overseas. It is reported that these guavas from Prayagraj were purchased by the company at prices higher than the market rate and then sent to Oman. This has resulted in double income for the farmers.

Demand for Sebia and White Guavas in Oman: The minister stated that the guavas of Prayagraj and Kaushambi, famous for their color and taste, are also liked in Oman. Sebia and White guavas are more delicious compared to guavas from other places. These guavas have been purchased directly from the farmers' fields at a price higher than the market rate. The farmers have received better prices for their produce.

Characteristics of Sebia and White Guavas: Sebia, a variety of Allahabadi guavas, looks somewhat similar to apples. On the other hand, the Sebia and White guavas of Allahabad, belonging to the red and white varieties, are also well-liked in foreign countries. The demand for Allahabadi Red guavas is the highest, and they have a red color.

U.P. fruits sent abroad: Before these guavas, mangoes from Lucknow were also sent to Moscow, Russia. There is significant demand for these mangoes in Moscow. Here, guavas are available at ₹80 per kilogram, while in Russia, they were sold for up to ₹800 per kilogram. Dinesh Pratap Singh, Minister of State for Horticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Agriculture Foreign Trade, and Agriculture Export, mentioned that efforts are being made to double the income of farmers by reaching the markets of different countries with various products of the state, such as mangoes, guavas, and chili.
