Today's Weather Forecast: Heavy Rain and Strong Winds Expected in Various Regions

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather warning for August 4th, predicting heavy rainfall and strong winds in various regions. Here’s a detailed look at today's weather:

Heavy Rainfall Alert:

According to the IMD, extremely heavy rainfall exceeding 20 cm is expected in certain areas of East Rajasthan, Southeast Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Goa, and Central Maharashtra on August 4th. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall (12 cm) is anticipated in the remaining parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Gujarat State, Vidarbha, Marathwada, and Coastal Karnataka. Heavy rainfall (7 cm) is also forecasted for isolated places in Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, West Rajasthan, Jharkhand, Bihar, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, Kerala and Mahe, South Interior Karnataka, and Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.

Thunderstorms and Strong Winds:

Thunderstorms accompanied by lightning are likely at isolated places in Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Sikkim, Jharkhand, and Bihar. Strong winds with speeds reaching 40-50 kmph, gusting up to 60 kmph, are expected in Southwest Uttar Pradesh and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh. Additionally, squally weather with wind speeds of 35-45 kmph, gusting up to 55 kmph, is likely to prevail over the Northeast and adjoining Northwest Arabian Sea, East-Central Arabian Sea, West-Central Arabian Sea, along and off the Konkan and Goa coasts, Gulf of Mannar, off the Sri Lanka coast, and over central parts of the Bay of Bengal.

Fishermen Advisory:

Fishermen are advised to avoid venturing into the sea as squally weather with wind speeds reaching 45-55 kmph, gusting up to 65 kmph, is expected along and off the coasts of Gujarat and Maharashtra, the adjoining Northeast and East-Central Arabian Sea, Central Arabian Sea and adjoining areas of Southwest Arabian Sea, the southern parts of the North Arabian Sea, and along and off the coasts of Somalia, Yemen, and Oman.
