Swamitva Yojana

The Swamitva Yojana, rural residents are issued property cards, which facilitate easier access to loans from financial institutions. The Central Government launched the 'Swamitva Yojana' on April 24, 2020, on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day. This scheme involves surveying rural Indian villages using advanced technology and drones to accurately map and record land data. Initially, the scheme was implemented as a pilot project in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The tagline of the Swamitva Yojana is "Meri Sampatti Mera Haq" (My Property, My Right).

Objectives of the Swamitva Yojana:

The primary objective of this scheme is to provide property rights to people living in villages by issuing them legal ownership of their land. The scheme aims to promote the development of rural residents by providing them with Records of Rights' and making them self-reliant. Additionally, the Swamitva Yojana will help in maintaining a digital record of property rights for rural people.

Benefits of the Swamitva Yojana:

  1. Landholders will be provided with a unique property ID.
  2. The property card will offer security and financial stability to rural residents.
  3. The scheme will help reduce land disputes in villages.
  4. Property cards will also be issued for multi-story buildings.
  5. It will facilitate easier access to loans from financial institutions.
  6. Mapping data can be used for village planning and development.
  7. The survey will provide information on infrastructure and geographical information systems (GIS).

Documents Required for Application:

  1. Aadhar Card
  2. Mobile Number
  3. Land Records (if any)

Implementation Process of Swamitva Yojana:

  1. Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) positioning will be used to ensure data accuracy obtained from satellite-based positioning systems.
  2. The Panchayati Raj Department will organize Gram Sabhas to disseminate survey information and raise awareness.
  3. Village maps will be provided to the patwari (village officer) to identify inhabited areas.
  4. Areas will be identified by state revenue officers, village panchayat officials, and property owners.
  5. Survey data will be prepared by the Survey of India, which will also design the drone flight plan through maps.
  6. Aerial images of the village will be taken using large-scale commercial-grade drones.
  7. Records of Rights will be prepared by the Survey of India through maps.
  8. Hard copies on a 1:500 scale will be prepared along with PDF copies.
  9. Land parcel maps will be prepared by the Survey of India, incorporating spatial and textual data.

Application Process for Swamitva Yojana: To apply for the scheme, applicants should visit the official website at (https://svamitva.nic.in/). On the homepage, click on the 'New Registration' option. This will open the application form on a new page. Fill out all the required information correctly and upload the necessary documents.
