The best time to cultivate lemon grass is from February to July. After planting, it can be harvested 6 to 7 times. Harvesting is done three to four times in a year. The cost of lemon grass cultivation can range from Rs 30 to Rs 40,000. The oil is extracted from the leaves of lemon grass. The cost of one liter of lemon grass oil ranges from Rs 1,000 to Rs 2,500.
