In the wake of diverse weather systems, Northern India braces for a spell of precipitation, with rainfall and snowfall predicted in various regions. Minimum temperatures, providing a chilly backdrop, ranged from 7-10°C in parts of Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, plains of Uttarakhand, and West Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, temperatures in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal varied between 11-15°C, marking normal to above-normal conditions over the northern parts of the country. Amritsar (Punjab) reported the lowest minimum temperature at 4.8°C.

Cyclonic Circulation and Western Disturbance:

Looking ahead, a cyclonic circulation over east Assam and neighbouring areas, coupled with a fresh Western Disturbance, is set to bring about significant changes in the weather scenario. The forecast for the next 5 days includes light to moderate scattered rainfall and snowfall across Jammu, Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from 3rd to 5th February. Additionally, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, Delhi, and Rajasthan can expect rainfall on 3rd and 4th, while Uttar Pradesh is likely to experience it on 4th and 5th February.

What to Expect in the Next 5 Days, Rain, Hail and Snowfall Forecast:

Isolated heavy rainfall and snowfall are anticipated over specific regions, including Jammu, Kashmir, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, and Himachal Pradesh on 4th February. Hailstorms are also on the horizon for Jammu, Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Chandigarh, Haryana, West Uttar Pradesh, East Rajasthan, and North Madhya Pradesh on 4th, with West Rajasthan expected to witness them on 3rd and 4th February.
Simultaneously, Arunachal Pradesh is expected to experience scattered to fairly widespread rainfall and snowfall from 3rd to 6th February, while West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Mizoram, Manipur, and Tripura may encounter isolated to scattered rainfall on 3rd February.

Odisha Braces for Low Visibility:

Residents of Odisha are advised to prepare for dense fog on 4th February, affecting isolated pockets during the morning hours. As for minimum temperatures, no significant changes are anticipated over northwest and central India in the next 5 days. However, East India might witness a fall by 2-4°C in minimum temperatures within the next 24 hours, with no significant changes thereafter.
