According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), Friday, August 9, will see cloudy skies over Delhi, accompanied by isolated light showers with occasional thunder and lightning. The maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to remain steady at around 34°C, while the minimum temperature could drop to 27°C.
The IMD also predicts light to moderate rainfall in various parts of Delhi-NCR, including Noida, Ghaziabad weather, Meerut, and Faridabad.
The continuous rainfall this month has significantly reduced the overall rainfall deficit across the country. In the first week of August alone, the heavy rains have closed the gap by a few percentage points. Between August 1 and 7, the country recorded over 44% more rainfall than usual, with 92.1 mm of rainfall registered against the normal 63.8 mm. Due to this early August downpour, the overall rainfall deficit across the country has now shrunk to just 18%, down from around 25% at the end of July.
However, the impact of the monsoon has varied across different regions. While some areas have been heavily affected by excessive rainfall, others have enjoyed relief from the heat and humidity.

The country's hilly regions, the heavy rain has led to landslides, causing significant disruption. On the positive side, some long-dry lakes have been replenished, and in Delhi, the air quality has improved to a level not seen in years.
