The monsoon season is in full swing across the country, bringing a mix of humid heat and light rainfall in many states and regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued rainfall alerts for several states. Here is the latest weather update:

Delhi Weather Today:

Monsoon has started to make its presence felt in the capital. Last night, areas such as Dwarka, Vasant Kunj, and Safdarjung experienced light to moderate rainfall. Scattered showers were also observed in various parts of Delhi NCR. Currently, some areas in Delhi are experiencing humid heat. The IMD has predicted moderate rainfall in Delhi today, July 18. The maximum temperature is expected to be around 38°C, and the minimum temperature could be around 30°C. Light rain is causing a rise in humidity and temperatures, which are expected to remain between 35°C and 38°C from July 18 to 24.

Rainfall Recorded in Various States:

  • Tamil Nadu: Valparai recorded 5 cm of rainfall.
  • South Interior Karnataka: Belgaum received 1 cm of rainfall.
  • Konkan and Goa: Ratnagiri reported 3 cm, and Panaji recorded 2 cm of rainfall.
  • Chhattisgarh: Raipur (Mana) witnessed the highest with 8 cm, and Rajnandgaon received 4 cm of rainfall.
  • Kerala and Mahe: Cochin recorded 4 cm, while Kannur, Kozhikode, Karipur, Palakkad, and Thrissur each received 2 cm of rainfall.
  • Assam and Meghalaya: Shillong and Barapani each reported 1 cm of rainfall.
  • East Rajasthan: Chittorgarh received 2 cm of rainfall.
  • Coastal Karnataka: Karwar recorded 1 cm of rainfall.
  • West Madhya Pradesh: Pachmarhi received 9 cm, and Khandwa recorded 2 cm of rainfall.
  • Vidarbha: Brahmapuri witnessed 9 cm, Bhandara received 5 cm, Wardha 4 cm, Gadchiroli 3 cm, and Chandrapur 1 cm of rainfall.
  • Punjab: Patiala reported 1 cm of rainfall.
  • Madhya Maharashtra: Mahabaleshwar received 1 cm of rainfall.
  • Gangetic West Bengal: Kolkata (Alipur), Diamond Harbour, and Haldia each reported 2 cm of rainfall, while Ulubaria received 1 cm.
  • West Uttar Pradesh: Muzaffarnagar received 3 cm of rainfall.
  • Lakshadweep: Amini Divi and Agatti each received 1 cm of rainfall.
  • Andaman and Nicobar Islands: Maya Bandar witnessed 4 cm of rainfall.
