The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy to extremely heavy rainfall alert for various parts of the country over the next seven days. Coastal regions, central areas, and parts of the northeast are expected to receive significant rainfall. Here's the detailed weather forecast for the next 7 upcoming days:

South India Coastal Regions to Experience Heavy Rainfall:

South India, light to moderate rainfall is expected throughout the week, with heavy to extremely heavy rainfall predicted in parts of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, and Telangana on specific days. Additionally, from September 9 to 10, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka, and Kerala are likely to witness heavy rainfall, with the coastal areas of Andhra Pradesh experiencing heavy showers until September 12.

East and Northeast India, Torrential Rains Expected:

East and Northeast India, extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Odisha on September 9. Jharkhand is forecasted to receive very heavy rainfall from September 10 to 11, while Gangetic West Bengal on September 9 and Assam and Meghalaya on September 11 to 12 are also likely to experience heavy downpours. For the next seven days, regions such as Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are predicted to see heavy rainfall.

West and Central India: Rainfall Warnings Issued:

For West and Central India, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Gujarat weather, Konkan, Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Vidarbha. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely over western Madhya Pradesh on September 11 and 12, while eastern Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha are predicted to receive substantial rainfall from September 9 to 10. These regions are expected to witness scattered heavy rain throughout the week.

Northwest India, Heavy Rainfall in Isolated Areas:

Northwest India, scattered light to moderate rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, and eastern Rajasthan, with very heavy rainfall anticipated in eastern Rajasthan on September 12 and 13. Additionally, Uttar Pradesh is expected to experience heavy showers from September 10 to 12, and Uttarakhand from September 9 to 14.

Monsoon Update Trough to Stay South of Its Normal Position: The monsoon trough continues to be positioned south of its usual location and is likely to remain there for the next 3-4 days. This will result in continued heavy rainfall across coastal, central, and northeastern regions of the country.
