Prime Minister Narendra Modi has reiterated his commitment to improving the lives of farmers across the country. To support this cause, the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-Kisan) scheme was launched on December 1, 2018. Under this scheme, beneficiary farmers receive an annual financial assistance of ₹6,000, disbursed in three equal installments of ₹2,000 each. To date, 16 installments have been credited to farmers' bank accounts, and they are now eagerly awaiting the 17th installment. Farmers who wish to benefit from the PM-Kisan scheme are advised to complete their KYC (Know Your Customer) process as soon as possible.
The PM-Kisan scheme was introduced by the central government to support small and marginal farmers nationwide. Beneficiary farmers receive ₹6,000 annually, distributed in three installments of ₹2,000 each. This amount is directly transferred to farmers' bank accounts via Direct Bank Transfer (DBT). The government has allocated an estimated ₹75,000 crore annually for the PM-Kisan scheme.
Prime Minister Modi expressed on Twitter that it is a privilege to serve as Prime Minister for a third term and that his government is dedicated to making farmers' lives easier. In line with this commitment, PM Modi signed the approval for the release of the 17th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme. This installment will benefit 9.3 crore farmers, distributing approximately ₹20,000 crore.
When Will the 17th Installment of PM-Kisan Be Released: According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the 17th installment of the PM-Kisan scheme will be disbursed soon. The funds will be directly transferred to the bank accounts of eligible farmers via DBT. Each installment of ₹2,000 is provided at four-month intervals. The necessary file for the 17th installment has been signed, and the funds are expected to be credited to farmers' accounts shortly.
E-KYC Mandatory for Receiving the Installment: To receive their installment, farmers must complete the e-KYC process. The official PM-Kisan website requires registered farmers to complete their e-KYC. This can be done through the OTP-based e-KYC process available on the PM-Kisan Portal.
