Good news for farmers in Uttarakhand, natural farming will be promoted along the banks of the Ganga River, increasing income. The government has taken a significant decision to promote natural farming in Uttarakhand. Under this, a proposal to exclusively practice natural farming in a five-kilometer stretch along the banks of the Ganga River has been approved. With this decision, the state can yield several thousand metric tons of natural products, which will also benefit the farmers as their income will increase.

After the meeting of the state cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Secretary Shailesh Bagoli announced that the state cabinet has approved the 'Namami Gange Prakritik Krishi Galiyara Yojana' (Namami Ganga Natural Farming Corridor Scheme) to encourage natural agriculture in a five-kilometer stretch along the Ganga River.

He stated that under this scheme, a total of 1,950 hectares of land along the banks of the Ganga River will be dedicated to natural farming, which will help prevent the contamination of the Ganga River water with chemicals used in conventional farming. He further added that approximately 2,500 metric tons of natural produce will be generated under this scheme, leading to an increase in farmers' income.
