After experiencing torrential rains in the month of Sawan, the heavy rainfall in Madhya Pradesh has come to a halt. Yesterday, Tuesday (August 6), most districts recorded little to no rainfall for the second consecutive day. According to the IMD, no district reported heavy rainfall. From 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM yesterday, Chhindwara, Nowgaon, and Khandwa recorded 3 millimeters of rain, Bhopal recorded 2 millimeters, Sagar 0.6 millimeters, Ujjain 0.4 millimeters, and Dhar and Indore 0.2 millimeters each. However, the Meteorological Department has predicted a return of heavy rainfall in MP starting Thursday, August 8.
According to the IMD, from June 1 to August 6, Madhya Pradesh has received 623.7 millimeters of rainfall, which is approximately 20 percent more than the normal rainfall of 519.8 millimeters. In eastern Madhya Pradesh, 664.5 millimeters of rain have been recorded, which is 17 percent more than the normal rainfall of 569.9 millimeters. In western Madhya Pradesh, 592.4 millimeters of rain have been recorded so far, exceeding the normal rainfall of 481.3 millimeters by approximately 23 percent.

The IMD has issued a heavy rainfall warning for several districts today, Wednesday, August 7. Heavy rainfall is expected in the districts of Sidhi, Singrauli, Balaghat, and Chhindwara. Additionally, there is a possibility of rainfall in Satna, Rewa, Mauganj, Anuppur, Shahdol, Dindori, Mandla, Seoni, Betul, Burhanpur, Jabalpur, Panna, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Umaria, Tikamgarh, Chhatarpur, Narsinghpur, Damoh, Maihar, Katni, Bhopal, Sehore, Vidisha, Khandwa, Khargone, Harda, Agar Malwa, Shajapur, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Ujjain, Gwalior, Guna, Ashoknagar, Shivpuri, Datia, Niwari, Bhind, Morena, and Sheopur.
