MP Rainfall Update: Heavy Rain Alert in Over 30 Districts of Madhya Pradesh Including Bhopal and Raisen
IMD officials have forecasted similar weather conditions for the next two days, i.e., July 22 and 23

Madhya Pradesh has been experiencing consistent and significant rainfall over the past few days. On Sunday, July 21, the rain continued from the morning in the capital, Bhopal, as well as in Sehore, Vidisha, and Hoshangabad. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for more than 30 districts, including Bhopal and Raisen. An orange alert has also been issued for several cities and villages, warning of heavy rainfall today.

The districts under the orange alert include Bhopal, Vidisha, Sehore, Raisen, Narmadapuram (Hoshangabad), Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Dewas, Jabalpur, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Chhindwara, Seoni, Balaghat, Rajgarh, Harda, Khargone, Barwani, Jhabua, Dhar, Indore, Ratlam, Shajapur, Agar-Malwa, Dindori, Katni, Damoh, Sagar, and Chhatarpur. These areas are expected to receive substantial rainfall.

Light Rainfall and Thunderstorms in Other Areas

Additionally, light rain accompanied by thunderstorms is predicted for Gwalior, Ashoknagar, Guna, Alirajpur, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Neemuch, and Shivpuri.

Weather Forecast for the Coming Days

Considering the ongoing heavy rainfall the IMD officials have forecasted similar weather conditions for the next two days, i.e., July 22 and 23.

Rainfall Activity in the Past 24 Hours

On Saturday, several districts in Madhya Pradesh experienced heavy rainfall. Raisen recorded the highest rainfall at 2 inches, while Seoni saw nearly 1.5 inches of rain. Significant rainfall was also recorded in Bhopal, Narmadapuram, Raisen, Betul, Chhindwara, Jabalpur, Khajuraho, Mandla, Narsinghpur, Sagar, Seoni, and Balaghat.

Impact of Continuous Rainfall : Due to the ongoing heavy rainfall, water levels in rivers, streams, dams, and ponds across the state have started rising. The likelihood of lightning strikes is also higher during such weather conditions.
