Heavy Rainfall Likely in Several Areas

Over the next seven days, the monsoon is expected to bring light to moderate rainfall across Central India, particularly in regions like Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, and Gujarat. During this period, Marathwada will also experience scattered and widespread rain, as the monsoon remains active in these areas.

Heavy Rainfall Likely in Several Areas:

According to the weather department, several regions are likely to experience heavy rainfall. Konkan and Goa are expected to see continuous rain throughout the week. Madhya Pradesh may receive heavy rain from August 23 to 26, while Chhattisgarh could see heavy showers between August 23 and 25. Similarly, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Madhya Maharashtra from August 23 to 26, and in Gujarat between August 24 and 28. Vidarbha and Marathwada are also likely to experience heavy rain on August 24 and 25.

Additionally, very heavy rainfall is expected in East Madhya Pradesh on August 24 and 25, and in West Madhya Pradesh on August 24 and 26. Central Maharashtra is also likely to see very heavy rainfall from August 24 to 26, with Gujarat experiencing very heavy rain on August 27.

Weather Activities:

Meanwhile, a low-pressure area has formed near the coasts of Goa and Maharashtra, currently located over the east-central Arabian Sea as of the morning of August 23. The associated cyclonic circulation extends up to 4.5 km above mean sea level, tilting south-westwards with height. However, this system is expected to weaken within the next 12 hours. Residents in these regions are advised to stay alert and take necessary precautions according to the weather conditions.
