The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a weather advisory for Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, predicting light to moderate showers accompanied by strong winds (40-60 km/h) and thunderstorms in various areas of these states today, June 17. The forecast indicates a high probability of rainfall in Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Vidarbha over the next five days. The southwest monsoon has reached the country's southwestern regions, bringing continuous heavy rains. Furthermore, the monsoon is expected to advance into North India in the coming days.

Rain Clouds Over Several States:

According to the IMD's forecast, heavy rainfall is expected in parts of Telangana over the next 24 hours. Light to moderate rainfall is also forecasted for Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, eastern Gujarat, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala, Lakshadweep, Goa, and Maharashtra. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and southeastern Rajasthan might experience light showers. 
An alert for heavy rain has been issued for Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim, and sub-Himalayan West Bengal until June 18, with the possibility of rainfall continuing for the next five days.

Heatwave Alert in Several Areas:

The weather department predicts the progression of the southwest monsoon over parts of West Bengal and Bihar in the next 3-4 days. However, Delhi, Punjab Weather, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand are expected to face intense heatwaves. Additionally, some regions in Himachal Pradesh, the Jammu division, eastern Madhya Pradesh, and northern Chhattisgarh are expected to face heat and heatwave conditions.
