On February 13th, 2024, isolated hailstorms are anticipated to hit East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Jharkhand, according to recent weather projections. Additionally, a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C is expected over various parts of East India within the next 24 hours, with no significant change thereafter. Northwest India is likely to experience a more substantial increase in minimum temperatures by 2-4°C over the next 4-5 days. However, Central India is not expected to see significant temperature fluctuations during this period.

Cold Wave Conditions Observed in Himachal Pradesh:

Yesterday, cold wave conditions were observed in isolated pockets of Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, as of 0530 hours IST today, dense fog has been reported in isolated pockets of Punjab and Odisha. Moderate fog has also been observed in isolated pockets of East Madhya Pradesh, with shallow fog affecting isolated areas of Delhi, Bihar, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam.

Rainfall and Thunderstorm Forecast for Multiple States:

Moreover, there a forecast of isolated/scattered light to moderate rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning activity across East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, and Jharkhand from 13th to 15th February 2024. Vidarbha is expected to experience this weather phenomenon on 13th February. Odisha is likely to witness light to moderate isolated rainfall on 14th & 15th, while south Uttar Pradesh may experience similar conditions on 13th & 14th February 2024.
