MP Monsoon Alert: Rain havoc continues in MP, flood conditions, red alert in several districts

According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the monsoon is currently in a strong phase in Madhya Pradesh. Persistent rainfall has led to rivers and streams in the state swelling. Over two dozen districts are now facing flood threats due to heavy rain. As a result, several dams, including Tawa, Bargi, Tigra, and Indira Sagar, have had to open some of their gates. IMD reports a monsoon trough over Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, causing continuous moderate to heavy rainfall in around 25 districts. A yellow to orange alert has been issued for these regions.

Heavy Rainfall Expected in These Districts:

The IMD has forecasted heavy rain in the following districts: Gwalior, Sidhi, Shivpuri, Guna, Datia, Ashoknagar, Sagar, Chhatarpur, Damoh, Tikamgarh, Panna, Niwari, Indore, Alirajpur, Barwani, Burhanpur, Dhar, Jhabua, Khandwa, Khargone, Ujjain weather, Dewas, Agar Malwa, Shajapur, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Bhopal, Raisen, Rajgarh, Sehore, and Vidisha.

Forecast for Heavy Rainfall in These Regions:

According to IMD Bhopal, the weather system is expected to weaken from July 25, leading to light to moderate rain with occasional thunderstorms in some areas. However, from July 28, heavy rain is anticipated in the eastern regions of MP, with the northern regions likely to experience heavy rain between July 29 and 30.

Weather Recap for Yesterday in MP: On July 24, many areas in MP experienced strong winds and lightning. Light to moderate rain continued in major cities like Gwalior, Bhopal, Ujjain, and Jabalpur. Maximum temperatures dropped in most districts of the Gwalior division, while significant decreases were also recorded in the Bhopal, Jabalpur, and Sagar divisions.
