The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heavy rainfall alert for parts of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, and Karnataka today, Sunday, July 28. Additionally, the northern regions, including Delhi, are expected to experience heavy showers throughout the day. 

Rain Havoc in Gujarat and Maharashtra

The IMD has issued a red alert for several districts in Gujarat and Maharashtra, with an orange alert in place for several other areas. As the monsoon rains persist, many rivers are swelling, raising the threat of floods. Water levels have surpassed danger marks in several rivers and streams, leading to flood-like conditions. Many small towns and villages are now starting to feel the impact of the rising waters.

What's the Weather Like in Delhi Today?

In the nation's capital, New Delhi, substantial rain showers have started, providing relief from the oppressive heat. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Delhi will likely experience a range of light to heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms today, July 28. The downpours over the past couple of days have resulted in waterlogging and traffic disruptions throughout the city. However, the precipitation has also contributed to a slight decrease in temperatures. Today's maximum temperature in Delhi is anticipated to be between 36 to 37 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is expected to be around 27 to 28 degrees Celsius. The forecast indicates that the rainy weather will persist throughout the week.
