The IMD has issued a red alert for a heatwave in Delhi-NCR until May 29, warning of extremely hot winds during this period. Neighbouring cities such as Noida, Ghaziabad, and Meerut are also expected to face similar conditions. On May 23, temperatures in these areas are likely to exceed 45 degrees Celsius.
