In Kushinagar, an agricultural university will be established, and the Uttar Pradesh government has already approved funding for it. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath shared this information. While inaugurating various projects at the Mahayogi Agricultural Science Center in Gorakhpur, the Chief Minister stated, 'Our government is committed to promoting agriculture as a viable source of employment. Through this, we are reconnecting farmers who had left farming.' CM Yogi Adityanath also mentioned that the Double Engine government aims to provide comprehensive agricultural knowledge and resources at a single accessible location for farmers across the state. Agricultural Science Centers (Krishi Vigyan Kendras) play a significant role in achieving this goal.

He mentioned that one of the initial initiatives of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government after coming to power in 2014 was to establish a system for providing free soil health cards to farmers nationwide, prioritizing the welfare of farmers. He listed various schemes initiated for the welfare of farmers and highlighted the government's active promotion of organic farming in the state, which allows farmers to reduce the use of chemicals, fertilizers, and pesticides. This not only saves farmers money but also protects their health by reducing exposure to harmful substances. The state government stated in a statement that the Chief Minister also inaugurated a one-day farmer fair and agricultural exhibition. He distributed certificates and kits to beneficiaries of various government schemes."
