In Himachal Pradesh, the ban on the export of four tree species, including pine, has been lifted, and this will also benefit the farmers

The Himachal Pradesh government has announced the removal of restrictions on the export of four tree species - pine, chinar, bamboo, and oak wood, allowing their export without the need for any permits. Additionally, within the state, there will be no requirement for permits for the transportation of these species. Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu stated that many farmers in the state engage in the cultivation of these species at a commercial level, and the lifting of restrictions will provide them with significant benefits.

The Chief Minister also mentioned that the government has relaxed export restrictions on various forest products, including khair wood, catechu, cedarwood oil, and several other indigenous herbs and plants. Permits from the Forest Department will now be required to take these forest products out of the state. The government is also considering implementing a National e-Permit system for the transit of these forest products. This system would enable people to obtain e-permits from the Forest Department, making Himachal Pradesh the sixth state to implement this system. The transit pass system is expected to bring convenience, transparency, and improvements in departmental operations.
