Flash Flood Risk Warning for the Next 24 Hours

The Meteorological Department has issued an Orange and Red alert. Precautionary actions should be taken in vulnerable areas such as urban and hilly regions, considering the heavy rainfall warnings. Heavy rainfall continues across several states, including Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Gujarat. Due to the current weather system in the country, significant rainfall is expected in many regions.

Flash Flood Risk Warning for the Next 24 Hours:

The next 24 hours, there is a moderate to high risk of flash floods in certain watersheds and neighboring areas. Districts of West Uttar Pradesh like Hamirpur, Jalaun, Jhansi, and Lalitpur; districts of East Madhya Pradesh like Damoh and Sagar; and districts of West Madhya Pradesh such as Agar-Malwa, Ashoknagar, Bhind, Bhopal weather, Guna, Gwalior, Jhabua, Mandsaur, Morena, Nimach, Raisen, Rajgarh, Ratlam, Sehore, Shajapur, Sheopur, Shivpuri, and Vidisha are under flash flood warnings.

Weather Department Warning for 12th to 17th September 2024:

Regions with saturated soils and low-lying areas, surface runoff or waterlogging may occur due to expected rainfall in the next 24 hours. Very heavy rainfall is expected over Central and Western India on the 13th and 14th of September. East Madhya Pradesh is likely to experience heavy rainfall on the 12th, while Madhya Maharashtra on the 12th, and Central India from the 12th to the 15th. Assam and Meghalaya are forecasted to have heavy rainfall for the next seven days. Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to receive heavy rainfall on the 13th and 14th of September, while Chhattisgarh may experience the same from the 15th to the 17th.

Light to Moderate Rainfall Expected: Throughout the week, light to moderate rainfall is expected in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Assam, Meghalaya, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, West Bengal, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Arunachal Pradesh, Bihar, and Odisha.
