Hope for a drop in tomato prices, expected to reach Rs 30 per kilogram by September. There is hope for a quick relief in tomato prices in the country. Tomato arrivals have started in Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Haryana, and as a result, there is an expectation of a decrease in tomato prices at the beginning of September.

According to Sanjay Gupta, Managing Director and CEO of National Commodities Management Services Limited (NCML), supplies will increase by the end of this month. Therefore, it is expected that prices will come down significantly, reaching as low as Rs 30 per kilogram by mid-September. As per data from the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, the average price of tomatoes across the country decreased from Rs 9,671 per quintal on July 14th to Rs 9,195 per quintal on

August 14th. Between July and August, tomato prices had surged above Rs 250 per kilogram in several parts of India.
However, with the arrival of fresh tomato crops from Maharashtra and Karnataka in the market, most cities are currently selling tomatoes at prices ranging from Rs 80 to Rs 120 per kilogram
