Heavy Rainfall Expected from Goa to West Bengal

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast for today, June 19, 2024, predicting widespread weather patterns across various states. Heavy rainfall is expected particularly in Goa and Konkan, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Kerala, Bihar weather, Odisha, Western Himalayas, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya. Additionally, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are likely to experience showers.

Weather Changes Possibility of Rain and Lightning in These States:

IMD has also warned of thunderstorms and strong winds accompanied by lightning in Uttarakhand and Eastern Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, Vidarbha, Gangetic West Bengal, Telangana, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam have been cautioned about the possibility of thunderstorms and gusty winds. Several other regions including Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Western Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Western Himalayas, Sikkim, Jharkhand, Odisha, and Northern Interior Karnataka may also experience thunderstorms and strong winds.
Coastal areas of Sri Lanka, Mannar Gulf, Southwest and West Central Bay of Bengal, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh are likely to experience gusty winds ranging from 35 kmph to 45 kmph. Stronger winds between 45 kmph to 55 kmph are expected along Somalia's coastal areas, Southwest and West Central Arabian Sea.

No Relief from Heatwave in Northern India: Northern India, the ongoing heatwave conditions are expected to continue without any relief. Localized heatwaves are anticipated in parts of Uttar Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and North Rajasthan. Odisha is likely to have hot and humid weather. Tonight, warm and sultry conditions are anticipated in small pockets of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and Rajasthan.
