Weather Update for Northwest India

The Meteorological Department has issued warnings of continuous heavy rainfall in southern, western, and north-central India due to a cyclonic circulation over north Chhattisgarh and neighboring areas. This circulation extends up to 7.6 km above mean sea level and tilts southwestwards with height. The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Bikaner, Kota, Guna, Sagar, Pendra Road, and Balasore, extending southeastwards to the East-central Bay of Bengal up to 1.5 km above mean sea level. Here’s the weather forecast for the next five days across different regions of India:

Weather Outlook for West and Central India in the Coming Days:

Over the next five days, West and Central India will experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. Very heavy rainfall is expected in Gujarat, Saurashtra, and Kutch on July 29, and in Konkan & Goa and Madhya Maharashtra on August 1-2. Heavy rainfall is also likely in Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh during this period.

Weather Update for Northwest India:

According to the IMD, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and East Rajasthan will see light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning over the next five days. Isolated very heavy rainfall is expected in East Rajasthan on July 29, in West Uttar Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh on July 31, and in Uttarakhand from July 31 to August 2.

South India Heavy Rainfall Expected in Karnataka and Kerala: The coming days, Coastal Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe will see light to moderate rainfall over the next five days. Interior Karnataka, Telangana, and Lakshadweep will experience scattered to widespread rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning. Heavy rainfall is expected in Coastal Karnataka on July 29 and in Kerala & Mahe from July 29-31.

Weather in East and Northeast India: Eastern India will experience light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms over the next five days. In Northeast India, scattered to widespread rainfall is expected. Very heavy rainfall is likely in Jharkhand on July 31 and in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura from July 30 to August 2.
