Alert for Heavy Rainfall in Mumbai and Several Areas Across These States

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts that Mumbai and nearby areas will continue to experience moderate rainfall from July 25 to 26. Despite a 30% rainfall deficit in June, over 1000 mm of rain is now anticipated. Today, July 22, heavy rainfall is expected in Mumbai, with temperatures ranging from a high of 28°C to a low of 25°C.

Heavy Rainfall in West Bengal, Jharkhand, and Additional Areas:

Heavy rain is likely to hit Gangetic West Bengal today and tomorrow, July 22 and 23. Jharkhand is forecasted to receive heavy rainfall from July 23 to 25.  Moreover, heavy rainfall is anticipated in West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, and Madhya Maharashtra on July 25. Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh are expected to get heavy rain on July 23, while East Madhya Pradesh is forecasted to receive heavy rainfall on July 24 and 25. Odisha and Coastal Karnataka are also expected to have heavy rain over the next five days.

IMD's Rainfall Alerts for Various Regions:

The India Meteorological Department has issued alerts for heavy rainfall across multiple regions in the coming days. Below are the details.

Extremely Heavy Rainfall in Uttarakhand: Uttarakhand is likely to experience extremely heavy rainfall today, July 22. Additionally, Himachal Pradesh is expected to experience heavy rain on July 24 and 25.

Heavy Rainfall in Kerala and Mahe: Kerala and Mahe are expected to receive heavy rainfall today, July 22.

Heavy Rainfall Alerts for Other States: Punjab and Haryana-Chandigarh are likely to see heavy rainfall today and tomorrow, July 22 and 23. Uttar Pradesh is forecasted to get heavy rainfall from July 23 to 25. West Rajasthan is expected to experience heavy rainfall from July 22 to 24, while East Rajasthan is likely to see heavy rain on July 22, 24, and 25. Jammu & Kashmir is expected to experience heavy rain on July 23 and 24.

Recent Heavy Rainfall Reports: Yesterday, isolated locations in Konkan & Goa and the ghat areas of Madhya Maharashtra experienced heavy to very heavy rainfall. Isolated spots in Gujarat and Odisha also reported heavy rain.

Current Monsoon Trough Position: The monsoon trough at mean sea level currently runs through Jaisalmer, Guna, Sagar, the center of a low-pressure area over north Chhattisgarh and its vicinity, Chandbali, and extends southeastward to the east-central Bay of Bengal.
