The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a significant weather alert for September 2, forecasting widespread heavy to very heavy rainfall across various regions. Extremely heavy downpours are anticipated at isolated locations in Vidarbha, which could lead to localized flooding and disruptions. In addition to Vidarbha, regions such as West Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Gujarat, and Marathwada are also likely to experience intense rainfall that could result in waterlogging and traffic snarls.

The IMD has also warned of heavy rainfall in several other areas, including Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Andaman & Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Saurashtra & Kutch, Central Maharashtra, Telangana, Coastal Karnataka, North Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Mahe. Residents in these regions should be prepared for potential disruptions to daily activities and are advised to monitor local weather updates closely.

Thunderstorm and Lightning Warning Issued for Multiple Regions:

The IMD has also issued warnings for thunderstorms, which are likely to be accompanied by lightning and gusty winds, especially in parts of Telangana. Wind speeds could reach 40-50 km/h, posing risks to infrastructure and personal safety. Furthermore, scattered areas in Bihar, Jharkhand, Gujarat, Konkan & Goa, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Yanam, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Madhya Pradesh weather, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh are expected to witness lightning strikes, which could lead to power outages and hazardous conditions.

Delhi Weather Update, Rain and Lightning Expected:

The national capital, Delhi, residents can expect light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning today, September 2. The weather conditions may lead to temporary disruptions in traffic and outdoor activities. The IMD has forecasted that the maximum temperature in Delhi will reach around 34°C, while the minimum temperature is expected to hover near 26°C, providing a brief respite from the recent heat.

Advisory for Residents: The IMD advises all residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions, such as avoiding unnecessary travel during heavy rainfall and staying indoors during thunderstorms. It is crucial to stay informed through local weather updates and be prepared for possible disruptions in essential services.
