The Meteorological Department has issued a forecast of heavy rainfall, rainfall and thunderstorms in many areas of North India today, April 29. These areas include northern hilly and plain areas like Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty winds are also likely at a few places over Punjab, Haryana and Chandigarh.
According to the weather forecast, there is a possibility of rain and thunderstorm in some areas of Rajasthan, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Odisha today.
Light to moderate rain and thundershower very likely to occur at isolated places over the districts of Shimla, Manali, Dharamshala, Hamirpur and other towns of Himachal Pradesh on 29th April. Meanwhile, Srinagar, Katra, Muzaffarabad and many other places in Jammu are likely to receive heavy snowfall and rain. The weather today has been severely adverse in Jammu for the past two days, with several roads blocked due to landslides, causing inconvenience to regular commuters. Yesterday, a dangerous landslide occurred in Ramban town, resulting in damage to more than 50 houses and affecting more than 500 people. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert in these areas and advised citizens to remain alert.
Light to moderate rain expected in these cities: Today, on 29th April, there is a possibility of light rain in cities like Chandigarh, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ambala, Hisar and Panipat in Haryana as well as Amritsar, Jalandhar and Bathinda in Punjab and some areas of Rajasthan like Ajmer and Chittorgarh.
