Weather Today: Heatwave and Scorching Heat Alert Issued for Delhi for the Next 3 Days: Weather Update

A severe heatwave alert has been issued for Delhi for the next three days, with extreme heat continuing to affect the capital and much of northern India. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there will be no relief from the intense heat soon.

On June 15, Delhi experienced severe heat, with the maximum temperature reaching 44.6°C, which is 6 degrees above the average. Some parts of the city recorded temperatures as high as 46°C.

Today's 16 June Weather Update in Delhi 

According to the IMD, today, Sunday, June 16, will also see extremely hot weather. The sky will remain clear, and heatwave conditions are expected to persist in many parts of the city. An "Orange Alert" has been issued for the next three days, advising residents to take precautions when stepping out during the daytime. Today's maximum temperature is expected to be around 45°C, with a minimum of 32°C.

Delhi Weather Forecast for the Coming Days

The heatwave is likely to continue in Delhi until June 19. However, a change in weather is expected from June 20, with a forecast of light rain and thunderstorms. For the rest of the week, the maximum temperatures are predicted to range between 42°C and 45°C, while the minimum temperatures will hover between 31°C and 34°C.

Residents are advised to stay hydrated, avoid direct sunlight during peak hours, and take necessary precautions to cope with the extreme heat. The IMD's orange alert highlights the severity of the heatwave, urging everyone to be cautious and stay safe during this period of intense heat.
