According to the Meteorological Department, there is a looming threat of heatwave across most parts of the country on May 2nd, including states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana, and Tamil Nadu. The scorching heat prevailing in these regions has posed challenges for the residents, especially in West Bengal and Jharkhand, where extreme fluctuations in temperatures have been observed.

As per the weather forecast, maximum temperatures between 44 to 47 degrees Celsius are expected to persist in parts of West Bengal, Eastern Jharkhand, and Odisha until May 3rd. Kolkata and Asansol in West Bengal are experiencing continuous heatwave conditions.

Heatwave Expected in Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh from May 3rd to 5th:

Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, there is a likelihood of heatwave conditions prevailing from May 3rd to 5th. Similarly, Chhattisgarh may experience similar weather conditions until May 6th.

Today Weather Forecast for Major Cities in MP:

  1. Bhopal: On May 2nd, the capital city of Madhya Pradesh, Bhopal, is expected to have clear skies, with maximum and minimum temperatures likely to be around 38 and 20 degrees Celsius, respectively.
  2. Indore: Clear skies are forecasted for Indore today, with a maximum temperature expected to reach around 39 degrees Celsius, and a minimum of about 21 degrees Celsius.
  3. Jabalpur: Similar to other cities, Jabalpur is expected to have clear skies with a maximum temperature of about 39 degrees Celsius and a minimum of around 21 degrees Celsius.
  4. Gwalior: Gwalior is anticipated to have clear skies today, with a maximum temperature of around 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of approximately 20 degrees Celsius.

Residents in these regions are advised to stay hydrated and avoid outdoor activities during peak hours to prevent heat-related illnesses.
