The scorching heat of May, the Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave alert from May 18th to 22nd in several states, including Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Delhi. At this time, these states are experiencing rising temperatures and persistent hot winds.

Rajasthan, temperatures have risen to between 43 and 46 degrees Celsius:

Rajasthan registers the highest temperatures, with Ajmer, Bikaner, Jaipur, Jaisalmer, Kota, Udaipur, Chittorgarh, and other cities expecting temperatures ranging from 43 to 46 degrees Celsius, accompanied by the onslaught of heatwaves. In Barmer and Dholpur, temperatures are likely to soar up to 47 degrees Celsius, marking the highest recorded temperatures.

Today Weather in Jaipur: Jaipur, the weather is expected to remain dry with a possibility of heatwaves. The minimum temperature is around 31 degrees Celsius, while the maximum temperature could reach up to 46 degrees Celsius.

Heatwave Hits Northern India: Additionally, Punjab's Amritsar, Bathinda, Jalandhar, and Ludhiana are recording maximum temperatures of 44 degrees Celsius, while in Haryana's Chandigarh, Rohtak, Faridabad, Sonipat, and Ambala, temperatures are expected to range from 45 to 46 degrees Celsius.

Uttar Pradesh weather, cities including Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Agra, Jhansi, Gorakhpur, and many others are also bracing for intense heatwaves and hot winds. Meteorological experts predict May to be the hottest month of the year, implying that the possibility of heatwaves in North-Central India is expected to persist for the next 7 to 8 days.
