The decision of the Uttar Pradesh cabinet is a joyous announcement for the farmers. The government has approved amendments to the mandi regulations to provide farmers in the state with the opportunity to sell their produce in other states. Previously, farmers in Uttar Pradesh were not allowed to sell their goods outside the state. However, to grant permission for the same and, especially, to enhance their income, a proposal for the 28th amendment to the Mandi Production Act of 2023 was introduced. The cabinet has now officially endorsed this proposal. They stated that with this decision, farmers in the state can now sell their produce outside Uttar Pradesh, and farmers from other states can also sell their goods in Uttar Pradesh.
