The IMD has issued a warning for heavy rainfall and lightning in 7-8 districts of Bihar today. The affected districts include Kishanganj, Aurangabad, Jehanabad, Kaimur, Supaul, Araria, and Rohtas. Farmers and fishermen in these areas are advised to avoid outdoor activities during this time. Additionally, on August 17, heavy rainfall is expected in Nalanda, Nawada, and Jamui.

Yesterday, most parts of Bihar experienced light to moderate rainfall, with the highest recorded in Sasaram, Rohtas, where 67 mm of rain fell. Flood Threat in Siwan District, Farmers Affected:

Siwan district, villages in the Guthani block are under threat due to the rising water level of the Saryu River. Floodwaters have rapidly spread to lower-lying areas, causing significant damage to paddy crops and seasonal vegetables planted along the riverbanks.

Continuous rainfall in several villages across Bihar has heightened the risk of flooding, with water entering homes and roads turning into rivers where boats are now being used. Thousands of people in these areas are severely impacted. The IMD has urged residents to avoid open spaces and take necessary precautions during this period.
