In the last 3 years, Rs 409.60 crore loan of 59,983 farmers has been waived off in Rajasthan. This information has been given in the assembly by the state government. Keeping this data in the Assembly, Cooperative Minister Udayalal Anjana said that the state government has waived loans worth Rs 409.60 crore given by Central Cooperative Banks and Primary Cooperative Land Development Banks in the last three years. 59 thousand 983 farmers of the state have benefited from this.
According to him, these loan waiver schemes include Rajasthan Farmers Loan Waiver Scheme 2019 (short term) and Rajasthan Farmers Loan Waiver Scheme 2019 (medium and long term).
He also made it clear that the nationalized banks are under the control of the Government of India and the decision to waive the loans of the farmers through them can be taken by the Government of India only.
Giving information about the farmers benefited from the loan waiver scheme in the state in the last three years, the Cooperation Minister said that in 2020-21, a total of 42,866 farmers benefited by waiving off short-term and medium-term and long-term loans worth Rs 325.14 crore. He said that similarly, loans worth Rs 49.83 crore were waived off for 1083 farmers in 2021-22 and Rs 35.63 crore for 7034 farmers in 2022-23.
