There is more availability of big potatoes in the market. In such a situation, farmers can use NPK 0.0.50 to increase the size of potatoes. After this take a good PGR coulter and along with it take B-20 boron. Its quantity of 200 to 210 grams should be used per acre of land. According to experts, the size of potatoes can be increased by adding nitrogen, Sulphur, phosphorus and many other nutrients to the crop.
Farmers are advised that if they want a good crop of potatoes then they should use manure and fertilizers as per soil test. If farmers are not able to get soil tested, then good quantity of manure and fertilizer should be applied per hectare. According to the advice, large amount of cow dung manure, 120 to 150 kg nitrogen, 80 kg phosphorus and 80 to 100 kg potash should be mixed in the soil.
Before the first ploughing, cow dung manure should be spread evenly in the field and plowed with a soil turning plough. Before sowing, spread half the quantity of nitrogen, phosphorus and potash by making a ridge in the land. After this, prepare ridges and irrigation drains. Give the remaining quantity of nitrogen 30-35 days after planting, before adding soil and after irrigation.
