The forthcoming annual budget of the Uttar Pradesh government for the fiscal year, a development target of 5.1% has been set for the agriculture sector. The budget earmarks ₹460 crores for three new agricultural schemes. Finance Minister Suresh Kumar Khanna presented the budget in the State Legislative Assembly on Monday, emphasizing the aim of achieving a 5.1% development rate for the agriculture sector. He unveiled three schemes designed to propel the agricultural sector forward.

One of these schemes includes a provision of ₹200 crores for the State Agriculture Development Scheme. An allocation of ₹200 crores has been made for the UP AgriSeeds Scheme, with support from the World Bank. The State Finance Minister mentioned that ₹60 crores have been earmarked for the installation of automated weather stations and rain gauges in blocks and panchayats as part of the third scheme.
Furthermore, he announced the initiation of the Chief Minister Crop Security Scheme, starting with a provision of ₹50 crores.

Additionally, a budget of ₹2,400 crores has been proposed to provide electricity to farmers' private tube wells at subsidized rates. This amount represents a 25% increase from the budget allocated in the previous fiscal year. Khanna emphasized that a proposal of ₹449.45 crores has been made for the implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kusum Yojana, more than doubling the allocation from the current fiscal year's budget.
