New Delhi, March 23, 2024 The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted intense surface winds in the national capital, Delhi, today, Saturday, March 23. The maximum temperature is expected to reach up to 34 degrees Celsius, while the minimum is likely to hover around 18 degrees Celsius. According to IMD, Delhi may witness temperatures soaring above 35 degrees Celsius later this week. Surrounding areas of Delhi are also anticipated to experience gusty winds and dry weather. This morning, the Air Quality Index (AQI) level in New Delhi was recorded at 272, indicating poor air quality.
Moreover, IMD has predicted rainfall in several states across Eastern and Southern India over the next five days. States such as Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura are expected to witness rainfall from March 23 to March 26. Additionally, Punjab, Bihar, West Bengal, Odisha, Karnataka, Coastal Tamil Nadu, and Kerala may also experience rainfall today. While most parts of the country are experiencing hot weather, some regions are still encountering rainfall due to weather variations. IMD has shared information suggesting that over the next 5 to 6 days, there might be a temperature change of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius in certain areas of Northern India as a result of weather patterns shifting from Western and Central India towards the Northern regions. The citizens are advised to stay updated with the weather forecasts and take necessary precautions accordingly.
