Delhi Records Hottest Day of March at 37 Degrees Celsius

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported that Delhi sweltered under scorching heat yesterday, marking the hottest day of March with temperatures soaring up to 37 degrees Celsius. Despite the presence of clouds, this day stands as the hottest in the capital city so far this season. According to IMD officials, Delhi experienced light rainfall in the surrounding areas including northern regions yesterday. However, despite the overcast skies, it didn't deter the mercury from reaching its peak.

Light rainfall is possible in Delhi for the next three days:

The IMD forecasts a possibility of light showers in Delhi for the next three days. This anticipated rainfall might bring a slight relief from the prevailing heatwave. Today, March 28, Delhi might witness sporadic drizzles, with temperatures ranging between a maximum of 37 degrees Celsius and a minimum of 20 degrees Celsius.

Anticipated Rainfall Across Northern Regions Including Punjab and Haryana: Due to the influence of a western disturbance, the IMD has predicted rainfall across various northern regions. There are concerns of scattered showers in Punjab and Haryana on March 28. Additionally, states like Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, and parts of northern plains are expected to experience light to moderate rainfall. Furthermore, Himachal Pradesh might witness snowfall today owing to the prevailing weather conditions. The continuous rainfall in northeastern states due to the western disturbance remains a significant concern. The ongoing spell of rainfall across these regions due to the western disturbance poses challenges for the residents and authorities alike, urging them to take necessary precautions. As Delhi braces for possible showers in the coming days, residents are advised to stay hydrated and take necessary measures to beat the heat. The IMD continues to monitor the weather update closely, providing timely updates to ensure the safety and well-being of the public.
