Heavy rainfall is being witnessed across most Indian states these days. While some states are facing flood-like situations due to excessive rain, others are experiencing less than normal rainfall. Here's today's weather update:
The capital city of Delhi, monsoon rains continue alongside hot and humid conditions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall in Delhi from July 17 to 18. According to the IMD forecast, the highest temperature in Delhi is anticipated to vary between 35 to 38 degrees Celsius throughout the week, with lowest temperatures between 27 to 30 degrees Celsius.
The IMD has issued heavy to very heavy rainfall warnings for various regions in India today (July 17). Extremely heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka. Additionally, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in Uttarakhand, East Rajasthan, West Madhya Pradesh, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, Karaikal, Kerala, Mahe, and South Interior Karnataka. Some places in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, West Rajasthan, East Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Odisha, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Telangana may also experience heavy rainfall.

The IMD has also forecast thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds (speeds of 30-40 km/h) in East Rajasthan. Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh weather, West Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Bihar, and Gujarat. Residents in these areas are advised to stay updated on the latest weather conditions and take necessary precautions.
