Now farmers will easily get Kisan Credit Card without going to the bank, banks will start pilot project across the country

Good news for farmers across the country. Soon, they won't need physical documents like land records or the requirement to be personally present at bank branches to obtain Kisan Credit Cards (KCC). The initiative to simplify access to Kisan Credit Cards has been started with pilot projects by the Union Bank of India and Federal Bank.

According to information provided by the banks, these pilot projects will eliminate the need for physical documents like land records and the requirement for individuals to be present at bank branches for obtaining Kisan Credit Cards. The public sector Union Bank of India launched this pilot project from the Harda district in Madhya Pradesh, while the private sector Federal Bank initiated it from Chennai. These projects are part of the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) efforts to digitize rural finance, with banks collaborating with RBI's Innovation Hub (RBIH). Union Bank of India stated that it would gradually expand this initiative to other states in the country. The CEO and Managing Director of Union Bank of India, A. Manimekhalai, inaugurated the project in Harda, along with Rakesh Ranjan, Chief Product Manager at RBIH, and senior management of the bank, along with over 400 local farmers in attendance.
