The state government will provide financial assistance ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 to cattle rearers for the rearing of advanced breed cows. This financial aid will be given upon the purchase of two indigenous advanced breed cows. Under this scheme, funding will be allocated for the purchase of domestic advanced breed cows such as Sahiwal, Gir, Haryana, Tharparkar, and Gangatiri.

The main objective of this scheme:

The Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's Progressive Cattle Rearer Incentive Scheme was initiated by the state government in 2023. The primary objective of this scheme is to encourage cattle rearers and farmers in the state to rear cows. Through this scheme, financial assistance is provided to cattle rearers for the maintenance of indigenous advanced breed cows. The Chief Minister's Progressive Cattle Rearer Incentive Scheme aims to increase employment opportunities and promote the rearing of high-yielding indigenous advanced breed cows in the state.

Under this scheme, cattle rearers are encouraged to:

  1. Improve the breeds of cows.
  2. Ensure their proper care.
  3. Enhance the quality of their nutrition.
  4. Maintain the health of the cows.

Benefits of the Progressive Cattle Rearer Incentive Scheme:

Through the Uttar Pradesh state government, an amount ranging from ₹10,000 to ₹15,000 will be provided. This financial assistance will be given to cattle rearers upon purchasing two indigenous advanced breed cows under this scheme. Participants will also receive a commendation certificate. Additionally, financial incentives will be provided for the purchase of two indigenous breed cows under this scheme. Beneficiaries will receive up to 40% of the total expenditure for transportation-related expenses incurred when purchasing cows from other states, up to a maximum of ₹40,000 per cow.

Eligibility criteria for application include:

  1. Applicants must be residents of Uttar Pradesh.
  2. Cattle rearers must be at least 18 years old to avail the benefits of this scheme.
  3. Applicants must have their Aadhaar card linked to a bank account.
  4. Participants are eligible to receive benefits only once in the lifetime of a cow.
  5. Dairy productivity will be determined within 30 days.
  6. Cows purchased by applicants from other states must belong to indigenous breeds.

Necessary Documents:

  1. Residence Certificate.
  2. Photocopy of the cattle rearer's bank passbook.
  3. Photocopy of the cattle rearer's Aadhaar card.
  4. Valid certification for microchips or ear tagging identification of cows along with identification number.
  5. Details of active insurance for the cow.
  6. Photo of the cattle rearer with the cow.
  7. Mobile number.

Application Process:

  1. Cattle rearers can apply for the Progressive Cattle Rearer Incentive Scheme through offline application forms.
  2. Offline application forms for the Chief Minister's Progressive Cattle Rearer Incentive Scheme are available at the district offices of the Uttar Pradesh Dairy Development Department.
  3. Obtain the application form from there, carefully review all the information asked for, and fill it out.
  4. Complete all requested information and attach the required documents.
  5. Submit the application form and all documents to the District Development Officer or the Animal Health Officer's office.
  6. The daily milk production of the cow will be determined based on the location verification limit within 2-4 days. After this, you can avail the benefits of this scheme.
