Under the Irrigation Nishchay Yojana, the Bihar government will facilitate the construction of irrigation wells on private land, with a diameter of approximately 10 feet and a depth of around 30 feet. Due to the lack of adequate irrigation, farmers often suffer significant crop damage. To alleviate these challenges, the Bihar government has launched the Irrigation Nishchay Yojana. Through this initiative, applications are invited for digging wells on private land and constructing water conservation ponds and farm ponds.
Farmers can directly apply online for the construction of irrigation wells, water conservation ponds, and farm ponds on their own land. The head of the group benefiting from the irrigation well construction must apply online. The application process started on June 21 and will continue until July 20.
Under the Irrigation Nishchay Yojana, irrigation wells will be constructed on private land. On community/government land, irrigation wells with a diameter of 15 feet and a depth of 30 feet will be constructed. Additionally, water conservation ponds and farm ponds will be constructed on private land. For irrigation well construction on private land, an 80% subsidy will be provided, while for community land, a 100% subsidy will be given. Furthermore, a 90% subsidy will be provided for constructing water conservation ponds and farm ponds on private land.
Beneficiaries from 9 Districts: Farmers from nine districts in South Bihar can benefit from this scheme. These districts include Jamui, Rohtas, Arwal, Jehanabad, Nalanda, Patna, Sheikhpura, Kaimur, and Buxar.
