Anticyclone Stirring Up Rain, Weather Forecast For Next 5 Days

Under the sway of an anticyclone stationed over the north Bay of Bengal, moisture is seeping into east central and east India from the Bay's lower tropospheric levels. Brace yourselves for isolated to scattered light to moderate rainfall, coupled with thunderstorms and lightning, expected over Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal & Sikkim on February 15, 2024. However, dry weather is anticipated thereafter.

Western Disturbance Alert Rain and Snowfall Forecast:

A  fresh active Western Disturbance is poised to make its presence felt. Between February 17th and 21st, the Western Himalayan Region is likely to experience scattered to widespread light to moderate rainfall and snowfall, accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning. Over the plains of Northwest India, isolated to scattered rainfall is expected during February 18th to 21st. Furthermore, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand should prepare for widespread light to moderate rainfall/snowfall with isolated heavy episodes on February 18th, 19th, and 19th, respectively.

Foggy Conditions & Temperature Drop Expected in East India & Gujarat:

Morning commuters in Bihar and Jharkhand should anticipate dense fog on February 16th, 2024, while a drop in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C is forecasted over East India & Gujarat in the coming three days.
