The persistent rainfall throughout September has led to flood-like conditions in several states, with dam gates being opened in various regions to manage the excess water. As the downpour shows no signs of stopping, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy to extremely heavy rainfall in several areas between September 15 and 20. Here's the detailed forecast and alerts for the coming days:

Alert for the Next 24 Hours:

According to the IMD's forecast, an alert has been issued for the following districts due to potential flooding in the next 24 hours:
Odisha: Balasore, Deogarh, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and Sundargarh districts.
Gangetic West Bengal: Bankura, Burdwan, Birbhum, East Medinipur, Hooghly, Murshidabad, Nadia, North 24 Parganas, West Medinipur, Purulia, and South 24 Parganas districts.
Jharkhand: Ranchi, Ramgarh, Chatra, Gumla, Hazaribagh, Koderma, Latehar, Seraikela, and Simdega districts.

Weather Forecast for September 15-20:

September 15: IMD forecasts extremely heavy rainfall in parts of Jharkhand, Odisha, and Gangetic West Bengal. 
In addition, very heavy rainfall is expected in some areas of East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Bihar. Heavy rainfall is also likely in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

September 16: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is predicted in East Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha. Heavy showers are also expected in parts of East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, and northeastern states like Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura.

September 17: Heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely in East Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh, with isolated heavy showers in Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and Odisha.

September 18: Heavy rainfall is forecasted for isolated locations in West Madhya Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya.

September 19-20: Heavy rainfall is expected to continue in parts of Assam and Meghalaya during this period. 

The IMD has advised residents in the affected areas to remain vigilant, as the heavy rains could lead to flooding and disruptions in daily activities.
